Events

Although SummerFest is the primary focus of our performing season, we have an active calendar throughout the rest of the year.

In the autumn we conduct our two voice competitions, the Mildred Miller International Voice Competition, and the Opera Champion of Pittsburgh Competition.

In the winter, we present a co-production with the Creative and Performing Arts magnet school (CAPA), this year Lukas Foss' Griffelkin.

Throughout the winter, we work in schools through Allegheny and Westmoreland counties, bringing opera to pre-kindergarten, middle- and high-school students using two productions—Hansel and Gretel for pre-K, and Shining Brow for middle- and high school students.

In June, join us at Fallingwater for two extraordinary performance of Daron Hagen's Shining Brow, performed on the terraces of Frank Lloyd Wright's iconic home for Pittsburgh businessman Edgar J. Kauffman in Bear Run, PA.

And in July, make your way to the The Twentieth Century Club in Oakland for SummerFest 2013, set in the stunning Art Deco ambience of this historic building.
