Be a part of this year's Mildred Miller International Voice Competition as we search for America's best singers. Young professionals aged 18–35 are encouraged to compete for cash prizes and solo roles in SummerFest 2015.

Join host Anna Singer and an esteemed panel of judges, including Mildred Miller Posvar, Robert Chafin, Robert Croan, Kevin Glavin, Eugene Perry, and Maria Spacagna, as they select three winners, in public sessions on November 1-2, 2014. Also featured are video excerpts of historic broadcast performances by Opera Theater founder Mildred Miller.

Final Round and Presentation of Prizes

General admission tickets on Sunday include afternoon tea at intermission, while VIP tickets include priority seating, afternoon tea, and a private reception with the winners immediately following the competition in a historic home.

Parking for the semi-finals on Saturday at Mellon Institute is available on the street along Bellefield Avenue (pay station meters), and also in the Dithridge Street parking garage, located directly behind Mellon Institute.

Parking for the finals on Sunday at the Twentieth Century Club is available on streets surround the club (free all day on Sunday), or in the nearby parking garage at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall.


Enjoy an exquisite brunch buffet at the Twentieth Century Club before the competition final round, beginning at noon on Sunday 02 November. You'll then only have to walk across the lobby to enjoy the competition finals!

Enjoy an intimate reception at the home of Opera Theater founder Mildred Miller Posvar immediately following the presentation of prizes. A VIP ticket for $125 provides priority seating for the competition as well as the private reception.

  • Ralph Zitterbart First Prize ($5,000) made possible by Lynn Beckstrom and Brian Schreiber
    • plus an optional $3,000 contract made possible by Phyllis Sidwell

  • The Fato-Snyderman Second Prize ($3,000) made possible by Dr. Michelina Fato and Karl Snyderman
    • plus an optional $3,000 contract made possible by Peter Geissler

  • Robert Chafin Third Prize ($1,000) made possible by the Grambrindi Davies Fund
    • plus an optional $3,000 contract

Winners from previous years, including Andrey Nemzer, Juan José de León, and Shannon Kessler Dooley, have recently appeared in roles with the Metropolitan Opera. What talented singer will follow them this year?

The Mildred Miller International Voice Competition is part of OPERA America's National Opera Week.
